• Create an application infrastructure strategy and roadmap that supports the current and future business needs
• Collaborate with architecture peers to develop architecture design principles and guidelines that promote adaptability and operational stability
• Work with peers to plan application infrastructure portfolio
• Document and analyze reviews for technical solutions
• Document technical architecture standards
• Document architecture definitions, usage guidelines, and review checklists
• Participate in reviews of technical/product evaluations
• Establish Domain specific application infrastructure
• Identify and define common components for re-use
• Author change requests for new standards
• Review test strategies as it relates to the application infrastructure
• Identify common failure modes and drive continuous improvement
• Support the Chief Architect with the constraints and tradeoffs needed to create viable solutions
• This role interfaces with Operations and are responsible for creating, maintaining, and continuously improving shared application infrastructure at supplier hosted facilities

Specific skills/experience (required)

• Advanced experience in infrastructure design and development
• Experience with multiple enterprise platforms, operating systems, storage, infrastructure management, and networks(e.g. Solaris, HP-UX, Windows, EMC, Cisco Networks, BEA Weblogic, Oracle, Sun One Portal, Oblix, MQ Series, Seebeyond, SAP)
• Experience in sizing, resource allocation, optimization of these environments
• Demonstrated understanding of leading architectural frameworks (J2EE), services oriented architecture, web services and related standards (e.g. WSDL, SOAP, XML)
• Experience in deploying infrastructure in a global, multi vendor, and multi hosted computing environment supporting enterprise applications (e.g. Peoplesoft, SAP, Siebel) and solutions (e.g. portals, e-commerce)
• Demonstrated ability to build consensus and promote Domain and Enterprise level standards and design principles to project teams
• Experience in high-availability environments(clustering, failover, load-balancing)
• Knowledgeable in infrastructure testing as well as application performance testing
• ITIL certified (minimum Foundation level)

• Bachelor's degree
• Masters degree preferred
• ITIL Certification
